8-Track Tape Restoration
Let's dust off our lava lamp and dig out our bell bottoms and mood rings. Yes, the 8-Track tape was a much loved format in the 70s.
Introduced in the early 1960's, 8-Track was the superior portable audio format of the 1970s. It ruled the world of portable music.
This advanced container for a continuous endless loop of 1/4" magnetic tape was more portable and somewhat easier to use than record albums and soon made its way into a tremendous number of cars, trucks and vans of the 1970s. They lasted about as long as the bell bottoms. 8-Track cartridges were phased out of retail stores by 1983, replaced with the even easier to use cassette tape.

Did you know ...
Here's what we're finding with a lot of 8-Track tapes: 1. Decaying rubber pinch rollers. 2. Crosstalk or sound bleeding between programs. 3. Pressure pad deterioration. This causes improper tape contact. 4. Tape breaking at the metal foil switching splice. All of the above may incur additional repair charges. Please keep in mind we do not service equipment!
