Slides / negatives / Photos
Many of our customers tell us how frustrating it is not to be able to see their old slides.
Perhaps it's due to a broken projector or missing bulb or just the inconvenience of dragging out that old dusty equipment. Slides should be enjoyed and shared, not stashed away in boxes.
Wouldn't it be terrific to see those old slides again? Of course! We can preserve your cherished family memories for future generations.

When it comes to photo, negative or slide scans, we get more questions about resolution and formats than anything else.
Here's what you need to know ...
DPI = Dots Per Inch. This is a measurement that refers to the output resolution of a printer.
300 dpi is optimum for printing color or grayscale photos.
PPI = Pixels Per Inch. This is a measurement that refers to the input resolution of a photograph or image.
Film (slide or negative) is small so it requires enlargement. Here's an example:
You want to print an image as 8" x 10" size at 300 dpi, then the required scanned image size is
(8 in. x 300 dpi) x (10 in. x 300 dpi) = 2400 x 3000 pixels
or Printing an image as 11" x 14" size : (11 in x 300 dpi) x (14 in. x 300 dpi) = 3300 x 4200 pixels
Here's what we offer ...
File Formats ...
JPG - The most used image format.
TIF - The most used in commercial work. Lossless compression.
